Northern Precision's engineering staff can provide
expert consultation on the design, tooling, prototyping and production
of an investment cast part. Our skilled engineers can work with
you in the selection of alloys, tool creation and manufacturing
planning. NPC's CAD/CAM-enhanced milling machines permit three-axis
die cutting of complex parts, thus reducing the time and cost of
single and multiple cavity die construction.
Computerized solidification modeling
is used to simulate the pouring, cooling and expected shrinkage
of the cast metal. This technique yields more cost-effective designs
and faster prototype development. NPC can also assist in formulating
a comprehensive testing program to assure the final integrity of
your parts.
Our modern 140,000 square foot facility houses a state-of-the art investment foundry and all supporting
technologies. Automated wax-injection systems allow us to fabricate
and assemble wax patterns in cost-efficient multi-pattern clusters.
Mechanical manipulators are used to invest wax clusters in ceramic
refractory for precise part definition.
NPC's plant features some of the industry's
most advanced investment casting technologies including 500-pound
induction melting furnaces, automated conveyor systems and extensive
production capacities. Precision measuring machines ensure dimensional
accuracy, layout and repeatability on every cast part.
A company-wide commitment to Continuous Improvement - in
all phases of part engineering, manufacture and quality assurance,
including DOE (Design Of Experiment) - constantly enhances our
ability to deliver premium quality parts at very competitive
prices.
NPC also utilizes a Flexible Technical
Design System, or Flex Tech, to ensure the successful management
of all part projects. This cross-functional team approach designates
a single Account Manager to coordinate the work of our Engineering,
Manufacturing and Quality departments on each investment casting
part project.
The Flex Tech approach gives our customers
a single, well-informed project manager who can provide detailed
information at any stage of production, while giving NPC the
ability
to effectively plan and manage complex part projects. |
